Grunge... again? Le sigh.

So, it has been nearly a year since I've posted anything on this blog. This semester will probably be my last for a while. I'll come out with my Cert IV in Network Security and I'll be free! Free to work, that is. But I've always enjoyed a working life more than a student life. Therefore, let's get back to it! The Spring/Summer shows (I know, I know, I'm a few months behind in my reporting... but over there they've just gone into autumn and already they want to tell you what to wear in 9 months time?!?! Guess that's just the way the industry works) seemed, well, grungy.

Example 1:

"Yes, I'd like the $3,000+ Chanel dress with the holes in it, please."

?!?!

Example 2:

Strategic rips in silk shirt artistically complemented by numerous safety pins. Warm hand wash. Do not dry clean. Do not tumble dry.

Vogue Australia has a zoom-in function on their photos, so I'd you'd like to take a closer look:

Disappointed. Guess I'll just have to keep digging. Surely there is someone who still believes in stitching fabric together, not tearing it apart...
